Professor Stephen Pinfield is Professor of Information Services Management at the University of Sheffield, UK. He is Deputy Director of the new Research on Research Institute led by the University of Sheffield, which will be officially launched on 30 September. He has a particular interest in open access, open data and digital scholarship, publishing and speaking widely on these topics. He set up the SHERPA initiative in 2002 whilst he was at the University of Nottingham, and was SHERPA’s Director until 2012. See slides here.
Dr Kyle Siler is a Research Fellow at the University of Sussex Science Policy Research Unit. His research currently focuses on predatory publishing, the economic sociology of Open Access, the Matthew Effect in publishing and the role of luck in science, among other topics. His research has been published in JASIST, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Social Studies of Science and Sociological Theory, among other venues. Kyle received his Ph.D. from the Cornell University Department of Sociology. See slides here.
